THE GAME
HINE is a multi-cultural, multilingual visual novel game; a lush fairytale drawing inspiration from Māori and Asian histories and art.
Born from a collaboration between two best friends - Ankita and Kahu - who just want to see more whimsical stories featuring characters and settings they can relate to.
STORY
Hine, the local healer, travels the land searching for her missing husband and trying to solve the mystery of why the river water, which sustains her township, has suddenly turned into undrinkable seawater.
Along her travels, Hine meets Ravi, a sailor and bard who has come to this land searching for the famous Mountain cloth woven by the local monks. They must help with the antics of masked doctors, farmers, capitalist tile-makers and even spirits to progress in their adventure.
Hine's investigation leads her deeper into the valley - into the foothills of the mighty Maunga worshipped by the locals.
Hine must unlock her true potential and enlist the help of her new friends in order to save the valley and find her missing beloved. to discover the source of the salty water, find her missing beloved - and save the valley.
